VPI Holdings Ltd is recruiting an Engineering Maintenance Technician (Electrical & Mechanical) Apprentice based at Damhead Creek Power Station, Rochester (ME3 9TX). This role is a 52-month (4 years 4 months) Level 3 dual-discipline apprenticeship combining on-the-job training at VPI with off-the-job specialist training delivered by IPS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED.
The apprenticeship includes study towards the Engineering Maintenance Technician standard and an end-point assessment. As an apprentice you will work alongside an experienced process shift team and a dedicated mentor, carrying out duties such as plant start-up and shutdown, operating plant within safety parameters, taking samples, completing daily logs, assisting with permit-to-work isolations/de-isolations, reporting health & safety and engineering issues, and supporting maintenance and housekeeping.
The role involves some working at height, confined spaces, and handling of chemicals, with specific training and PPE provided. The programme offers a competitive apprenticeship salary, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and extensive training and development opportunities.
Applicants must hold the specified GCSEs (English, Maths, Science +2 others at Grade 5+), have unrestricted right to live and work in the UK, and meet the stated minimum age requirement.
