Join Thales as an Algorithms Engineering Apprentice based at Templecombe, working on signal processing and AI algorithms for industry-leading sonar systems. This role combines practical, hands-on engineering in a multidisciplinary team with exposure to data science, AI/ML, signal and information processing, algorithm design, scientific programming (e.

g. MATLAB, Python) and systems analysis.

You will be enrolled on the Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship (Software Engineering pathway) with the University of Warwick. The four-year programme uses a block-release model with a mix of on-campus delivery and remote learning.

Day-to-day you will work in the business for four days each week and have one day dedicated to apprenticeship study, gaining professional knowledge and skills alongside practical application.

Applicants must meet academic entry requirements (five GCSEs including English and Maths and three A-Levels including Maths and STEM) and pass UK government security vetting. On completion you will achieve a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions plus the Level 6 apprenticeship qualification and be positioned to work as a software engineer within Thales UK.
