Thales UK is recruiting a Digital Manufacturing Engineer Apprentice to join its Industry Team at the Templecombe site. This is a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship combining on-the-job learning at Thales with day-release study at Yeovil College.
The role focuses on the manufacture of low-volume, high-tech products and includes placements to understand different manufacturing challenges and the application of digital solutions to improve efficiency and problem solving.
The apprenticeship includes a 3. 5-year training programme delivered via a day-release model. You'll study for an HNC in Engineering or Manufacturing Operations alongside a Level 4 apprenticeship qualification, and learn skills such as data analysis, CAD, use of lean and Six Sigma tools, root cause analysis, project management techniques, and preparation of manufacturing documentation.
Most time is spent working on real projects at Ocean House, Throop Road, Templecombe (BA8 0DH), with specialist training provided by Yeovil College.
This role requires the permanent right to work in the UK and successful candidates must undergo BPSS and obtain full Security Clearance (SC) prior to starting. The programme offers a salary of £24,000 per year, pension contributions with employer match, health insurance and other company benefits.
The apprenticeship starts on 7 September 2026 and the position is based in-person at the Templecombe site.
