Thales is recruiting a 2026 Industrial Process Engineer Apprentice based at Ocean House, Throop Road, Templecombe (BA8 0DH). This is a paid degree apprenticeship offering a starting salary of £24,000 a year and wide company benefits.

You will be employed by Thales and enrolled with Yeovil College on the Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer degree apprenticeship.

Most of the programme is on-the-job training where you will apply academic learning in a manufacturing environment. Duties include defining and optimising manufacturing processes and tooling, performing manufacturing readiness reviews, contributing to process innovation and quality assurance, attending review boards, and implementing test and control plans.

Training is delivered via a day-release model and the programme includes a foundation qualification (such as an HND) followed by a BEng.

Essential requirements include GCSEs in Maths and English (grade 9-4 or A*-C) and A-levels (English plus an additional STEM subject at grade 4/C or above). All candidates must have the permanent right to work in the UK and will need to pass BPSS and obtain full Security Clearance (SC) prior to starting.

The apprenticeship start date is Monday 7 September 2026 and the role is full-time (37 hours/week, Monday-Thursday 9. 25 hours/day).

Pay & Benefits

£24,000 a year. Performance related pay uplifts. Pension - Thales match, plus 1% with a maximum contribution of 7%. Health insurance - 50% of salary for 5 years.
