2026! Volvo Trucks Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship

This is a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician apprenticeship with Volvo Truck & Bus based in Peterborough (Cygnet Park, PE7 8JA). Over a 32-month Advanced Level apprenticeship you will gain hands-on experience maintaining, servicing, diagnosing and repairing heavy goods vehicles, buses and coaches to manufacturer and DVSA standards.

Training combines workplace learning with block release to Remit’s Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby and includes IMI Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Level 3 and Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths (if required).

Day-to-day tasks include assisting with repairs using Volvo special tools, fault diagnosis, parts fitting, workshop safety and time recording, and attending college courses and technical development sessions. You will be provided with full equipment and tools on starting, and you will work alongside experienced technicians and receive support from a dedicated Development Coach.

Training is delivered in the workplace with block release (16 x 1 week blocks over the programme). The employer covers the costs of hotel accommodation, food and travel for block release weeks so there is no cost to the apprentice.
