This is a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician apprenticeship with Volvo Truck & Bus based in Hayes (Bulls Bridge Centre, North Hyde Gardens, UB3 4QQ). As an apprentice you will learn to maintain, service, diagnose and repair heavy commercial vehicles, buses and coaches to manufacturer and DVSA standards while working alongside experienced technicians.

Training is delivered through workplace learning combined with block release to REMIT Group's Automotive Academy in Derby. The programme runs for approximately 32 months with 16 one-week (block) sessions across the course; training includes IMI Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Level 3 and Functional Skills Level 2 in English & Maths if required.

Employer provides tools and covers the costs of hotel accommodation, food and travel for college blocks.

Typical hours are 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm). Applicants must have GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade 4/C and demonstrate mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and enthusiasm to learn.

Pay & Benefits

Employer provides full equipment/tools on starting. Costs of hotel accommodation, food and travel for block release training are met by the employer. No cost to the apprentice for training-related accommodation, food and travel.
