Oxford Scholastica Academy’s Experience International Relations, Politics & Leadership programme is a two-week summer school in Oxford for teenagers interested in global affairs, diplomacy and leadership. It is designed to help students expand their understanding of politics and international relations while building confidence through discussion, debate and collaborative learning.
Teaching takes place on campus in small classes of up to 15 students, with academics from leading universities. The course covers leadership theory, political change, democracy, political economy, international relations, global organisations, crisis and global governance, and the role of social media in politics.
Students also take part in a Model UN-style challenge, where they research a position, represent an assigned country and negotiate with others in a structured diplomatic debate. Beyond the classroom, the programme includes masterclasses, opportunities to meet a political professional, and a wide range of social and cultural activities around Oxford.
Students finish with a graduation experience and can earn an Oxford Scholastica Academy Certificate of Achievement, with some also receiving a personalised Letter of Recommendation.
