Oxford Scholastica Academy Experience Creative Writing Academy

Experience Creative Writing Academy is a creative writing summer school in Oxford for motivated 15-18 year olds. Students explore storytelling, fiction and nonfiction, world-building, character development, dialogue, scriptwriting and the craft of turning ideas into compelling narratives.

The course combines classes with practical writing tasks and an intensive Book Series Challenge, where students work in teams to design and develop their own book series. They also take masterclasses that build transferable skills such as public speaking, critical thinking and teamwork, and they hear from an established writer about careers in writing and publishing.

Alongside the academic programme, students take part in social, cultural and sporting activities in Oxford, creating a lively experience beyond the classroom. Successful participants receive an Oxford Scholastica Academy Certificate of Achievement, and some students also qualify for a personalised Letter of Recommendation.
