This live interactive webinar is part of the University of Southampton's Learn with US Transition EPQ programme and focuses on academic writing for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Delivered by Lily Bissell, Academic Skills Officer, the session aims to improve critical writing and help students achieve higher marks in the EPQ written report.
The workshop will cover planning the EPQ report for logical structure, distinguishing descriptive from critical writing, synthesising complex information, constructing clear evidence-based arguments, and analysing information to reach a cohesive conclusion. Preparatory tasks and a recommended YouTube pre-reading ('Planning and Writing the EPQ') are provided to get the most from the session.
The event runs live on Zoom, is participative (typed comments/questions and microphone interaction where appropriate), and will not be recorded; slides and resources will be shared afterwards where available. Registration is required via the provided TryBooking link and the session is free to attend.
