Standard Chartered Financial Markets Apprenticeship Programme UK 2026

Standard Chartered's Financial Markets Apprenticeship Programme is a two-year paid apprenticeship for people who want to start a career in banking without going to university. Apprentices rotate across Markets teams in four six-month placements, gaining hands-on experience in trade booking, market monitoring, data analysis and operational processes while attending structured learning sessions and insight events.

The programme includes on-the-job learning and time away for specialist training delivered by the University of Exeter. Apprentices study toward an Investment Operations Specialist (Level 4) qualification and complete the CISI Investment Operations Certificate.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (36 hours 45 minutes per week). The role is based at 1 Basinghall Avenue, London (EC2V 5DD). High performing apprentices may be considered for permanent roles at the end of the programme.

The employer offers a competitive salary (£30,000 per year) and a £2,000 relocation allowance. The programme is aimed at applicants studying towards or who have completed Level 3 qualifications (A Levels, BTEC) with a minimum of five GCSEs including maths and English.
