Apply NowReady to level up your street art? Join a focused 2‑hour session with Sarah Gillings to build spray‑paint and stencil control, layer designs, explore digital techniques and strengthen your GCSE-style portfolio—connect with expert guidance and practical skills.
This is an intermediate in-person street art session for young artists aged 10-18 who have some prior experience with spray paint. Over a focused 2-hour class participants will develop spray-paint and stencil skills, practising can-control, layering stencils, combining stencil elements, and planning a more considered visual idea.
The session introduces digital design concepts alongside traditional hand-cut stencil techniques and supports students working toward GCSE-style portfolio work. Students will plan and create a finished artwork on an A2 board to take home.
The class emphasises independent decision-making, thoughtful planning, and techniques used by professional street artists. Outcomes include improved spray-can control, understanding of layering and stencil processes, experience mixing digital planning with analogue making, and a resolved piece of artwork.
Sessions are run in venues around Lewes, Brighton, Forest Row and Newick (venue to be confirmed). Participants should arrive 15 minutes before the start time; late arrivals cannot be admitted. The mentor provides equipment and drinks, and the session is suitable for those seeking Arts Award Bronze/Silver contribution and GCSE portfolio development.
