Join GSK's Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering at the Montrose manufacturing facility and earn while you learn. This is a four-year practical apprenticeship combining on-the-job work with one day per week of college study at Dundee and Angus College.
You will work on maintaining and improving pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment across a large production site, applying theoretical knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include routine maintenance, fault finding, diagnosing and resolving breakdowns, installing and testing equipment, recommending and implementing improvements, and participating in community projects and team activities.
You will be supported by a buddy or mentor, receive structured training, and have opportunities to work with advanced manufacturing technologies including robotics and digital solutions. The apprenticeship includes a funded Level 3 Engineering Technician qualification, a starting salary (see remuneration), and access to employee benefits, wellbeing services, and early careers networks.
No prior experience is required, but applicants must meet the educational entry requirements and be able to commute to the Montrose site and attend college sessions in Dundee.

Expected start date
£18,400 per year
Starting salary of £18,400 per year, increasing to £25,400 after 1 year (subject to annual review). Annual bonus based on company performance. Studies fully funded by GSK.
