This is a full-time Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship within Siemens Energy's Grid Technologies Substations team based at the Newcastle office. As a Primary Engineering Degree Apprentice you will combine on-the-job training with university study, working towards a L6 BEng Product Design and Development Engineering degree at Newcastle University while being employed by Siemens Energy.
In this role you will develop conceptual designs for onshore high voltage transmission substations, producing layouts and elevations using 3D software and supporting calculations. You will learn safe working solutions across the substation lifecycle, work with Senior Design Engineers and Project Managers, and gain experience in design, visualisation and construction techniques used across the business.
The programme is aimed at applicants with A-level qualifications and strong GCSE results in core subjects, and offers structured skills development through classroom learning and practical activities.
