Apply NowFancy exploring the building blocks of the universe? Join UCL's one-day Particle Physics Masterclass to hear researchers, analyse real ATLAS data, build practical skills and boost your uni/career prospects—hands-on, expert-led and in person.
UCL's Particle Physics Masterclass is an in-person one-day event run by the High Energy Physics research group. The programme includes short talks by research physicists, discussion sessions and hands-on activities that introduce students to experimental particle physics, including topics such as the Large Hadron Collider, the discovery of the Higgs boson and the properties of neutrinos.
Participants will use computers to study real particle collision data from the ATLAS experiment and will compare their results with students at other universities across Europe in a video conference led by scientists at CERN. The day is designed to give Year 12 students an insight into current particle physics research and the tools researchers use to analyse collision data.
To register interest, email Mark Fuller (mark. fuller@ucl. ac.
