The Clark Lectures 2026 is a short public lecture series at Trinity College Cambridge featuring A. E. Stallings, the Oxford Professor of Poetry, presenting on the theme “Labyrinths of Amazement.
” The series brings together four events of poetry lecture and discussion focused on rhyme, experimental techniques, stanza architecture, and a final reading and discussion. Individual sessions in the series include: - Monday 2 March: The Spell of Rhyme: Rhyme’s Strong Magic - Wednesday 4 March: Slant-wise: Experimental Rhyme - Monday 9 March: Rooms and Corridors: The Architecture of Stanzas - Wednesday 11 March: Poet’s Practicum: A Poetry Reading and Discussion Each lecture takes place in the Winstanley Lecture Theatre at Trinity College.
