Curious how the universe ticks? Dive into Cambridge's Atlas Physics summer school: explore relativity, quantum mechanics and astrophysics through tutorial-style teaching, build critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and connect with tutors and peers to boost your university prospects.

Atlas Summer Courses’ Physics summer school in Cambridge is designed for ambitious 16–17-year-olds who want to explore the laws that govern the universe in more depth. Students study topics such as the history of the atom, relativity, quantum mechanics, astrophysics and particle physics, while also developing critical thinking, problem-solving and scientific reasoning skills.

Teaching is delivered in a tutorial-style format with small classes and interactive seminars, allowing tutors to tailor discussion to the interests and abilities of the group. Learners complete independent written or problem-solving tasks and then review their work in personalised tutorials, receiving detailed feedback and a recommendation letter from their tutor on completion.

The programme is hosted in Cambridge colleges and includes a wider social and cultural experience alongside the academic content. Students can expect a certificate on completion, small-group learning, and an environment that supports independent study and confidence-building.
