Apply NowThe Particle Physics Summer School is a free three-day residential course introducing Year 10 students to particle physics, science and engineering. It is organised by St Paul’s School in partnership with the Particle Physics Research Centre at Queen Mary University of London and uses workshops and lectures led by teachers and academic researchers to bring particle physics to life.
The course is aimed at students working at a higher level than their peers (on target for GCSE grades 8-9) with a passion for STEM. It runs at St Paul’s School, London from 2pm on Wednesday 8 July to 4pm on Friday 10 July 2026, and is open to 30 non-fee-paying students (Year 10 or equivalent).
The programme highlights the importance of particle physics across the sciences, engineering and computer science. Application requires both the student and a nominating teacher to complete short online forms, including 200-word supporting statements.
The application deadline is midnight on 7 May 2026; successful applicants will be informed by 22 May 2026 at the latest and a parent/carer will be asked to complete a registration form to confirm attendance.
