New World New Skills Work Experience is a paid, in-person work experience programme from PwC for school and college students from lower socio-economic backgrounds. It gives participants a snapshot of life at PwC and an introduction to the firm’s early careers pathways.
Across four days in selected UK offices, students take part in interactive sessions led by PwC people, learn about different parts of the business, and hear from staff across a range of grades. The programme also includes networking opportunities and skills-focused sessions designed to build confidence, employability and awareness of the working world.
Participants work as part of a team on a business challenge and gain first-hand insight into how PwC supports clients. The experience is intended to help students understand the firm, develop useful workplace skills, and explore whether PwC’s entry-level and Flying Start degree routes could be right for them in the future.

Location
- Must live within 90 minutes of an office where the programme is running and be able to attend in person for the full length of the programme.
- Must currently be in Year 12 (England and Wales), Year 13 (Northern Ireland) or S5 (Scotland).
- Must be on course for 96 UCAS tariff points from your top three A-Levels or equivalent qualifications, excluding General Studies and the EPQ.
- Must meet the socio-economic background requirements.
- Must attend a state school or college.
- Must currently be eligible for free school meals or have been eligible in the last six years.
- Alternatively, when aged 14, the occupation of the main household earner must have met the lower socio-economic background criteria in line with Social Mobility Commission guidance.
Participants receive hourly pay in line with National Living Wage. PwC also provides a laptop to work on, free lunches, and reasonable travel expenses.
Free to participate. Participants receive pay rather than paying a fee.
