Want to use your cooking skills to make a real difference? Join the Lunch Club at Swansea Women’s Centre—plan and cook nutritious meals, support a trauma-informed space, build practical kitchen experience and boost your CV while connecting with community.

The Nelson Trust Swansea Women’s Centre runs a twice-weekly Lunch Club offering a hot, nutritious meal and a safe, trauma-informed space for women facing multiple disadvantage. As a Lunch Club Volunteer you will help plan, purchase and prepare meals, account for dietary requirements, assist with serving, clearing away and washing up, and maintain basic stock checks in the kitchen.

This role requires practical kitchen skills and a passion for cooking: creativity to support menu options, time management and organisational skills, and a reliable, approachable manner. You will need a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to complete one online (the Trust can arrange and fund this).

Volunteers receive a full induction, relevant training and ongoing support, with opportunities for personal development. Successful applicants must be female (occupational requirement), will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and an Enhanced Level 1 Vetting with HMPPS, and provide two referees.

For more information or to discuss the role contact Anna O’Hara at anna. ohara@nelsontrust. com.
