Fancy sharpening your portrait skills in a day? Join Putney School of Art and Design’s one‑day Portrait Project to learn proportion, tone and composition, draw from a live model and build dynamic pieces for GCSE, A‑level or art foundation portfolios.

This one-day portrait summer school teaches observational drawing skills focused on drawing the face in proportion. Sessions cover shape, line, scale, comparative tonal values, composition, proportion, geometry and perspective with group and individual demonstrations.

Participants will work from a model (model's fee is included) and receive guidance aimed at producing dynamic portrait work suitable for GCSE, A level coursework or a foundation/art college portfolio. The course runs as in-person one-day workshops at the Putney School of Art and Design Main Site Studio 2.

Sessions are scheduled for 25 July 2026 (Tutor: Paul Schofield) and 3 August 2026 (Tutor: TBC), both 10:00 16:00. The fee is £64. 00 per session.

All levels are welcome; bring your own drawing materials and sketchbook or purchase supplies from the school's Art Shop.
