University of Birmingham Year 12 and 13 Discovery Day

The University of Birmingham Year 12 and Year 13 Discovery Day is designed to give students a first-hand experience of university study. The event includes interactive subject taster sessions, opportunities to meet current students, and an optional campus tour, helping students explore what life at a leading research-intensive university is like.

Students can choose from a wide range of sessions across the arts, humanities, social sciences, engineering, science, medicine and health. The day is intended for students who already have a clear idea of what they want to study, as well as those still considering their options, and aims to support informed choices about higher education and next steps after sixth form.

Teachers and advisers register their students through the online booking form, which also allows them to reserve places, select preferred subject sessions, and request the campus tour or accessibility support. Subject taster allocations are first come, first served, and bookings close on Friday 11 September 2026.
