Join Sussex Wildlife Trust for a free outdoor taster day at Cooden Beach, designed for young people aged 16-19 who are interested in nature, wildlife and green career pathways. The session includes rockpooling, exploring coastal ecology, getting creative, relaxing on the beach and sharing a picnic together in an informal, hands-on setting.
The day is part of a wider series of youth opportunities that introduce participants to practical conservation activities and the kinds of experiences they could have on a future coastal and woodland course. It is intended to help young people shape upcoming activities through their own experiences and ideas, while also discovering more about local wildlife and ways to support the coast.
The event is in person and starts at Cooden Beach Station before walking to the beach site. Sussex Wildlife Trust provides equipment, a first aider, travel support if needed and food, including a picnic lunch.
Participants should wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes, and bring a water bottle and any personal items they need to carry with them.
