Atlas Summer Courses’ Neuroscience Summer School in Cambridge is an academic summer programme for ambitious 16-17-year-olds who want to explore how the brain works. Students study brain function, the nervous system, cognition, sensory systems, neural circuits, and the links between neuroscience, behaviour, and emotion.
Teaching is delivered in small seminar-style groups and tutorial sessions, with expert tutors tailoring the course to the interests of the group. Learners complete independent work such as essays or problem sheets, receive personalised feedback, and build critical thinking, analysis, and scientific communication skills through a mix of solo and group study.
The course is hosted at colleges of the University of Cambridge and includes a broader summer-school experience with social activities and cultural excursions. Students receive a certificate of completion and a personalised letter of recommendation, and accommodation and meal options vary by package tier.
