Start your accountancy career with McEwan Wallace Chartered Accountants as an AAT Level 3 apprentice, delivered in partnership with Kaplan. Most of the apprenticeship is on-the-job: you will assist with preparation of VAT returns, small limited company accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and use accounting software including Excel, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.

The role is based at the firm's offices in Birkenhead and includes standard working hours of 36. 25 per week (Monday-Friday).

Your training includes off-the-job study for the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, covering units such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting Techniques, Tax Processes for Business, Business Awareness and the Advanced Synoptic Assessment (part of End Point Assessment). The apprenticeship is intended to develop practical bookkeeping, reconciliation and reporting skills, plus digital proficiency with accounting systems.

Essential entry requirements include GCSEs (or equivalents) in English and Maths (grades 9-4). The apprenticeship starts on 10 November 2025, lasts approximately 1 year 3 months, and the listed first-year wage is £14,231.
