Start a career in accountancy with a Level 3 apprenticeship delivered by SMH BCL Accountants in partnership with Kaplan Financial Limited. You will work on invoices, credit notes and accounts while studying towards the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.
The role is full-time (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday) and most learning is on the job with time allocated for specialist training.
Day-to-day duties include assisting managers with a portfolio of clients, preparation of annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, VAT returns, corporation and personal tax returns, client bookkeeping and preparation of P11Ds. The training programme covers double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliations, use of accounting software, communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders and other practical finance tasks to build technical skills and behaviours for progression.
The apprenticeship starts Monday 5 January 2026 and runs for 1 year 6 months. The role is based at 2 Pavilion Business Park, Royds Hall Road, Lower Wortley, Leeds, LS12 6AJ, UK. Training provider: KAPLAN FINANCIAL LIMITED.
Salary is paid at National Minimum Wage (range advertised £14,526. 20 to £23,492. 04 depending on age).

- GCSE or equivalent in Basic Maths (grade 9/A* - 6/B)

- A Level or equivalent in a relevant subject (desirable, grade A-C)
- Candidates with A Levels (including Maths, Accounting, or Business at grade B or above) will be considered for Level 3 AAT
£14,526 per year
