Deadline in 89 days

Armstrong Watson LLP is recruiting for a 3-year Trainee Accountant / Tax Adviser apprenticeship based in Leeds. This programme combines on-the-job learning with professional qualification studies so you can earn while you learn and gain an AAT or ATT qualification.

Trainees will be placed in either the Business Services Team (preparing accounts, bookkeeping, preparing VAT returns) or the Tax Compliance Team (preparing tax returns, calculating tax liabilities, assisting with tax planning projects).

You will work alongside current apprentices and experienced colleagues who will provide daily support and mentoring. Successful completion of the apprenticeship and the AAT/ATT qualification provides exemptions and a fast track to further study and career progression, including entry to graduate programmes and routes toward becoming a Chartered Accountant or Chartered Tax Adviser.

Armstrong Watson seeks motivated candidates with strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude. The role includes a competitive salary and a benefits package (see advert). Note: the employer cannot offer visa sponsorship for this role; degree-holders or those graduating in 2026 are directed to apply for the graduate positions instead.
