Abbey College Cambridge is offering scholarships for local students applying for entry at Year 9 (13+ entry) and Year 12. Awards recognise academic ability, teamwork, critical thinking and contribution to society.

Successful Year 9 candidates may be awarded up to 100% of tuition fees; Year 12 candidates may receive scholarships up to a 20% tuition discount. Assessment for scholarship applicants takes place at a Scholarship Assessment Day on Thursday 29th January 2026.

Year 9 applicants will complete tasks, sit Maths and English papers, participate in an interview and submit an essay beforehand. Year 12 applicants will be assessed in two of the subjects they wish to study at A level, take part in a teamwork task and attend an interview with senior staff.

To be considered students must have already applied for a place at the college and complete the scholarship entry form. The deadline for scholarship applications is Friday 9th January 2026. For queries contact Hatty.

  • Applicants must have submitted an application form to join Abbey College Cambridge before applying for a scholarship.
  • Applicants must attend the Scholarship Assessment Day on Thursday 29th January 2026 to be considered.
  • Scholarships are available to local applicants who have a UK passport or leave to remain in the UK and live within the local Cambridge area.
  • International students should apply via the International Admissions Team (not via the local scholarships route).
  • Scholarships are awarded in recognition of academic ability, teamwork, critical thinking and contribution to society.
