Abbotsholme VetPath Presents: Lambing Live! is a free, hands-on experience day for pupils in Years 10-13 taking place at Abbotsholme School's working farm. The event runs on Sunday 15 March 2026 from 10:00 to 16:00 (doors at 09:45) and offers direct insight into lambing season for those considering Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Agriculture or related degrees.
Under expert supervision in a safe learning environment, students will learn about care and management of pregnant ewes, recognising signs of labour, birth management and intervention techniques, immediate lamb care and early-life monitoring. Attendees may have supervised opportunities to assist with live births (mother nature permitting).
The day is designed to build confidence and provide meaningful, practical experience that supports university applications and work-experience portfolios. All attendees receive a Certificate of Completion and a detailed information pack to support UCAS applications and required work experience records.
