Academy Royale International Essay Competition

The Academy Royale International Essay Competition is an annual writing competition for ambitious students worldwide. Entrants choose from a set of pre-defined essay questions and submit work in the age band that matches their stage of study, with one category for ages 12 to 15 and another for ages 16 to 18.

The questions cover future-facing and debate-led themes such as artificial intelligence, the environment, social media, human rights, education, innovation and tradition. The competition is designed to challenge students to think critically, build a clear argument and express ideas in a structured, persuasive way.

Participants can benefit academically even if they do not win, as the competition is intended to strengthen research, writing and analysis skills. Submitted work is also assessed by academic experts, giving entrants feedback and recognition for their effort.
