Active Horizons is offering 20 paid and supported summer job opportunities for young people aged 16-20 who are facing challenges. The programme includes a mandatory preparation week followed by five weeks of work placements, wraparound support from a youth worker, and an end-of-programme celebration in mid-September.
Participants will be paid for their participation. Placements are offered in the Bexley and Bromley areas across various industries. The contract is for 25 hours per week over the programme period and salary is £12.
71 per hour. Applications are subject to selection (Randomised Control Group) with selection activity noted for the end of May and placement matching at the end of June. To apply, young people must have the right to work in the UK and meet the eligibility criteria listed by Active Horizons.

Location
- Minimum age 16 (on or before 22nd May 2026)
- Maximum age 20 (on or before 22nd May 2026)
- Has the right to work in the UK and can provide documentation
- Able to take part in 25 hours of employment each week (with reasonable adjustments)
- Not currently employed for more than 15 hours per week
- Available to participate in at least 5 of the 6 weeks of the programme
- Must be able to attend the mandatory preparation week
- Living in one of the delivery areas (Bexley or Bromley) and not planning to move out of the area during the programme
- Not living in the secure estate at the start of the programme
- Proficiency in spoken English
- Not currently charged with a serious offence
- Not studying towards a degree
£13 per hour
Salary is £12.71 per hour. Participants will work 25 hours per week across a 6-week programme (preparation week plus 5 weeks of placement) and will be paid for their participation. Wraparound support from a youth worker is provided.
