Spend a weekday on an inpatient ward, seeing speech and language therapists assess patients with communication and swallowing difficulties. Get a practical introduction to the profession and see what the role involves day to day.

This one-day work experience placement supports inpatient speech and language therapy practice on the ward. Students see how the team assesses in-patients who have communication and swallowing difficulties, giving a practical introduction to the profession.

The placement is available on weekdays from 8:30 to 16:30 and is intended for post-16 students who are interested in an allied health profession career. It offers a close look at how speech and language therapists work with patients in a hospital environment and what the role involves day to day.
