Siemens Mobility is recruiting an Advanced Apprentice in Rail Engineering (Level 3) based in Southampton. This is a full-time, permanent apprenticeship where you will earn a salary while following the ST0318 Rail Engineering Technician (Traction and Rolling Stock Pathway) apprenticeship standard.

The role combines workplace experience with day-release college study and culminates in an End Point Assessment.

You will work on real projects within the Rolling Stock environment, developing skills such as application and mobile platform development, mechanical and electrical fault finding to enable trains to enter passenger service, and contributing to sustainable rolling stock solutions. The programme includes a personalised apprentice development plan and hands-on training to prepare you for a professional engineering career.

The role is based at the Southampton site (Notham Traincare Facility). Applicants should have or be on track to achieve at least five GCSEs (grade 4 or above) including Maths and English. Proof of qualifications will be required prior to any job offer.

  • Have achieved or be on track to achieve at least 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above, including Maths and English Language.
  • Preferred that applicants do not hold a Level 2 PEO (Performing Engineering Operations).
  • You must NOT have completed a Level 3 Engineering Diploma (BTEC).
  • You must NOT have completed a Level 3 AME (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering).
  • As part of recruitment, applicants must provide proof of qualifications achieved and any qualifications in progress prior to any job offer being made.
