Advanced Therapies Apprenticeship Community (ATAC)

The Advanced Therapies Apprenticeship Community (ATAC), delivered by the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, is a national apprenticeship programme designed to train and upskill individuals in the development, manufacture and delivery of advanced therapies, biologics and complex medicines at scale.

ATAC works with apprentices, employers and training providers to consult, design specialist pathways, attract talent, advise employers and enrich the apprentice experience. The programme spans apprenticeship levels 2 through 7 and supports occupational competence through a mix of on-the-job learning, taught provision and end-point assessment.

Since its 2018 launch ATAC has supported hundreds of apprentices and collaborated with numerous UK employers to address workforce skills gaps in manufacturing, quality control and digital automation.
