Welcome shoppers, serve customers at the till and help with Gift Aid sign-ups in a busy community shop. Get full training, including time to learn the tablet-based till system, then help put out and label stock.
Age UK East Sussex is looking for volunteers to join the Bexhill shop team, helping a local charity retail outlet that raises funds to support older people in the area. The role is customer-facing and suits someone who enjoys meeting people, chatting with customers and being part of a busy community shop.
As a Customer Service Volunteer, you would welcome shoppers, serve customers at the till, handle money and sales, and help with Gift Aid sign-ups when people donate items. You would also help keep the shop well presented by putting out stock, labelling items, assisting with merchandising, and keeping the shop clean and tidy.
Full training is provided, including time to get used to the tablet-based till system. The charity says one shift a week of around four hours is ideal, although more flexible times may be possible. Volunteers are currently needed on Saturdays only, and applicants must be over 16 years old.
