Apply NowWant to research like a university student? Pair with a doctoral mentor to design your own humanities or media project, sharpen close reading and argument skills, and produce a polished piece of scholarship to boost your uni application.
Aldevere’s Humanities & Media Research Mentorship pairs high-school students with doctoral-level or equivalent research mentors to help them develop a serious, student-led question in the humanities. The programme is built around close reading, careful argument, and independent intellectual exploration, with projects that can draw on history, philosophy, English literature, media studies, and wider cultural analysis.
Students work towards a polished piece of scholarship that they can cite in university applications and discuss confidently in interviews. Possible outputs include a close reading essay, a historical argument paper, or a media and culture analysis, each designed to show original thinking, evidence use, and clear writing.
The page also describes the programme as suitable for students who are studying humanities subjects at A-level or who want to explore ideas beyond the school syllabus. Depending on readiness, students may begin with 1-to-1 Research Scholar mentorship or a Field Seminar, with the right path recommended after an interview.
