The American Virtuoso International Music Competition (AVIMC) 2026 Winter Edition is an international classical music competition open to vocalists and instrumentalists (piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, guitar and chamber music). AVIMC seeks to discover outstanding young performers and support their careers by offering performance opportunities, adjudicator-led masterclasses, and scholarships.
Winners are offered recital opportunities at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, and selected winners may be promoted for additional Carnegie Scholars performances. The competition is organised by the American Society of Musical Excellence (a 501(c)(3) non-profit) and includes multiple competition categories and age groups: Artist Group (college students & professionals), Amateur Artist Group (age 19+), and Young Artist subdivisions (A: 15-18, B: 11-14, C: 10 and younger).
All participants receive complimentary masterclass opportunities with adjudicators; selected masterclasses are held online (Zoom) and require separate registration by March 25, 2026. Key dates for the 2026 cycle: early-bird application deadline 5 April 2026 and final application deadline 31 May 2026.
