Join a hands-on Paisley lino printing workshop led by Amina Pagliari that explores the history and visual language of the paisley motif. The session begins with an introduction to the origins and cultural significance of paisley using historic and contemporary examples to inspire participants.
Participants will design and create an original paisley motif, then transfer it onto lino and learn safe cutting techniques followed by printing their finished design onto paper. The workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some creative experience; no prior printmaking experience is required.
All prints made during the session can be taken home, and selected works will be included in an upcoming exhibition. The workshop takes place in person at The Higgins Bedford (Castle Lane, Bedford MK40 3XD) on Saturday 28 Feb from 12pm to 3pm.
The session is limited to 10 participants and is aimed at GCSE, A-level and college art students aged 14-18. Please only book if you are able to attend due to limited capacity.
