Ancient Tech, Modern Challenges, and the Future of STEM is a one-day convention held at Cardiff University on Saturday 27 June 2026. The event runs from 09:00 (doors open) with the programme running approximately 10:00 M to 17:00.
The convention will take place at Cardiff University (Park Place, CF10 3AT); the exact room is to be confirmed (Queens Building or Trevithick Building). The programme brings together leading experts in astronomy and space environment physics to explore the history of astronomy, current challenges and future possibilities in STEM.
Speakers listed include Prof. Paul Roche FRAS, Prof. Mike Lockwood FRS, Prof.
Mike Edmunds MA PhD FRAS, Dr Jane Clark and Dr Jenifer Millard, among others. First Light Optics are named as the Gold Sponsor. Practical information: attendees are asked to bring their own lunch; hot and cold drinks and biscuits will be provided.
