Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is running Operating Department Practice Taster Days for people interested in the role of an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) and in studying the related undergraduate degree. The sessions give attendees the chance to explore the surgical environment, learn about the profession and the degree, and hear directly from course lecturers and current students about study and placement opportunities.
Activities include opportunities to speak with academics and students, explore the ODP role in more detail, receive information about course content and clinical placements, and obtain practical tips on applying to the degree, including interview preparation. The taster days are presented as online events linked to ARU's Cambridge and Chelmsford campuses.
Places must be booked in advance via ARU's booking form. The page lists specific upcoming dates for the Cambridge and Chelmsford taster days with times given as 09:30-15:00 (local time). These sessions are aimed at prospective undergraduate applicants considering the Operating Department Practice degree.
Dates from the previous cycle — new dates are announced when applications reopen.
Usually runs between October-March
