Animationclub School - Clean Up Workshop: Free Start

This is a short, free online workshop from Animationclub School that teaches the clean up stage of traditional 2D animation. Delivered as a series of five pre-recorded lessons, the course shows how to set up a Toon Boom Harmony clean up project, master basic clean up tools, work with layers and brushes (bitmap vs vector), and produce spotkeys, breakdowns and in-betweens.

By the end you will have completed a cleaned-up jumping-cup animation ready for colouring.

The workshop is self-paced (pre-recorded lectures and homework) and typically takes a couple of hours to complete. It is presented by mentor Christian Maymo (Clean Up Supervisor and 2D Cleanup Artist) and includes mentor demonstrations and practical exercises to help you translate rough sketches into polished animation frames.

The course is aimed at beginner and working 2D animators and students of traditional 2D animation who want to improve clean up techniques and demo reels. It is free to join, recommended software/hardware is listed on the course page, and learners can start at any time.
