Matt Duggan is recruiting an Apprentice Bricklayer to join his local bricklaying business based in the Nottingham area. This on-the-job apprenticeship gives practical hands-on experience working on residential projects (90% of work in West Bridgford), learning bricklaying, repairing structures, reading drawings and following health and safety standards while working alongside experienced tradespeople.

The apprenticeship follows the Bricklayer Level 2 standard with Nottingham College as the training provider. College attendance is one day per week at Ruddington Campus (NG11 6JZ) for the 2-year programme.

Start date: Monday 1 December 2025. Typical working hours are between 7:15am (earliest) and 4:30pm (latest), 40 hours per week; days on site will be confirmed.

Wage for the first year is £15,704 (apprenticeship/NMW rules apply). Essential qualifications include GCSEs in English and maths (grade 3 / D / Level 1 pass). To apply sign in with your GOV.

  • A driving licence and own vehicle is preferable; if not, candidates must either be based in West Bridgford (able to get to site to start at 8am) or live in Sherwood and be able to join the 7:15am pick-up
  • Share any other relevant qualifications and industry experience; the apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect existing skills

Pay & Benefits

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. £7.55 is the starting Apprenticeship minimum wage. This may be reviewed for the right candidate with prior skills and the right attitude.
