This is an 18-month Level 3 Chef de Partie apprenticeship with The QHotels Collection based at the Cambridge Belfry (CB23 6BW). You will spend most of your time working on the job in a busy hotel kitchen, learning practical culinary skills, menu preparation, food safety and section leadership while studying with the training provider Benson-Smith Limited.

Day-to-day duties include preparing and cooking meals, following recipe and brand standards, keeping your kitchen section clean and organised, supporting and coaching junior team members, and working flexible hours (40 hours per week on a rota across a 7-day week). There is an opportunity to work overtime during busy periods for apprentices aged 18 and over.

The apprenticeship includes monthly offsite masterclasses and specialist training to achieve an accredited Level 3 Chef de Partie qualification, with progression routes to a Level 4 Senior Culinary Chef.

Wages are listed between £15,704 and £25,396. 80 depending on age and National Minimum Wage rules. The role requires a strong interest in cooking; desirable qualifications include GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) and a Level 2 Commis Chef qualification where available.

Support with Functional Maths and English is offered for learners under 19 who do not hold a grade 4 in those subjects.
