Join the University of Oxford as an Apprentice Digital Support Technician and learn on the job within the Department of Engineering Science. You will work alongside the Service Desk team to provide first-line IT support, handling hardware, software, AV, telephone and account issues in a primarily Microsoft Windows environment.
Duties include managing incident tickets, maintaining user documentation, applying information security principles and delivering excellent customer service.
This is a structured apprenticeship delivered with training provider DIGITAL NATIVE (UK) LIMITED. The role requires completion of the Level 3 Digital Support Technician apprenticeship standard; training is delivered through remote sessions, online learning and work-based tasks, with day release required for gateway and End Point Assessment.
The position offers the opportunity to gain relevant British Computer Society qualifications alongside workplace coaching and 1-2-1 support.
Practical details: the post starts Monday 12 January 2026, with working hours of 36 hours 30 minutes per week and a listed duration of 1 year 3 months. The workplace is the Department of Engineering Science, Parks Road, Oxford (OX1 3PJ).
