Thurrock Council is recruiting an Early Years Support Worker Apprentice (Level 2) for the Disabled Children Short Breaks and Outreach Service (SEND). The role involves supervised work with children in the local community, including daytime, evening and Saturday sessions, supporting families and young people with SEND.
The post is a 15-month fixed-term apprenticeship working 37 hours per week.
Apprentices will study and complete a full Level 2 Early Years apprenticeship, including Level 2 functional skills in Maths and English if not already held. Training and assessment time will be allocated during normal working hours; apprentices will complete assignments, workbooks and online training as required by the qualification.
The role requires an Enhanced DBS check with the Children's Barred List.

Salary: National Minimum Wage for age. Rates listed in advert: Under 18 - £7.55 per hour; 18-20 - £10.00 per hour; 21+ - £12.21 per hour. Apprentices receive benefits including 25 days annual leave, access to health & well-being programme, NUS Apprentice Extra card, pension enrolment, and apprentice development events.
