As an Apprentice Estimating Management Trainee at Wates you will develop commercial knowledge in cost estimating and cost planning to support work winning. You will learn to review and analyse information for preparing and writing cost plans and estimates, and to prioritise cost effectiveness and best working practices.

Typical duties include assisting in producing cost plans and estimates, preparing tailored bid responses, compiling electronic submissions, and collaborating with colleagues across the business.

This programme combines practical on-the-job experience with formal training over a three-year apprenticeship. You will follow a structured learning plan with technical and behavioural development, mentoring from industry experts, and placement opportunities across various departments to build a broad understanding of the business and develop long-term career skills.

Successful applicants must have GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above and be obtaining or hold A-Levels (or equivalent Level 3 qualifications). The programme includes a competitive salary, private medical insurance, car allowance/company car scheme, a health and wellness programme, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, and completion of a construction-related Level 4 qualification.
