Severfield is recruiting Apprentice Fabricator Welders to join its Bolton site on a Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship. The role combines on-the-job training at Severfield with one day a week of college study at Wigan and Leigh College.

The apprenticeship prepares you to work on large-scale structural steel projects and develop practical fabrication and welding skills.

Day-to-day duties include interpreting technical drawings, marking out, producing and assembling fabricated products, using manual and power tools, cutting and forming metal, and operating joining and welding equipment. You will be expected to maintain a safe, tidy workspace, manage your own time, and follow instructions from qualified fabricators while attending required college training days.

The apprenticeship starts on 1 September 2026, runs for 3 years 6 months, and has 5 positions available. Location: Lostock Lane, Lostock, Bolton (BL6 4BL). Essential qualifications: GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4+); GCSE Science (Grade 4+) is desirable.

Successful completion results in a Level 3 Metal Fabricator qualification and opportunities to progress into senior production or other roles across the business.
