Yunex Traffic is recruiting an Apprentice Field Services Engineer to join its Field Services teams in Reading. As a #TrafficTransformer apprentice you will work on real projects, completing installations, maintenance and fault diagnosis on traffic signal assets and associated highways systems.

The role includes practical tasks such as using hand and power tools, working at height aids, completing reactive and proactive maintenance, producing accurate clearance notes in the Fault Management System, and following contract-specific requirements for response and repair times.

This is a guided learning journey combining on-the-job learning and college-based training. The apprenticeship is a Level 3 programme delivered over four years, during which you will work towards relevant Highway Electrical Registrations Scheme (HERS) occupations and associated NVQ units, and complete mandatory National Highway Sector Scheme training and product/equipment training.

Apprentices will join the business on 1 September 2026.

Applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK and meet the minimum educational requirements (4 GCSEs at grade 4+ including Maths and English or equivalent).

  • Willingness to travel to multiple Yunex Traffic sites across the UK for training
  • Must be able to travel to the relevant Yunex Traffic site or your respective college
  • Willingness to learn to drive if not already; ideally passed by completion of Year 1 of the apprenticeship (dependent on applicant age)
  • Available to start on Tuesday 1 September 2026
