This Level 2 Food & Beverage Team Member apprenticeship based at Riverdale Hall Hotel (Hexham, Northumberland) offers hands-on hospitality experience working within the restaurant and front-of-house. Apprentices will carry out customer-facing tasks including greeting and seating customers, setting up tables, delivering food, serving drinks, cash handling and using the till.
As the role progresses you will also learn hotel booking systems, taking bookings and checking guests in.
You will be allocated a workplace mentor and receive training to complete the apprenticeship standard, including at least 20% off-the-job study and regular one-to-one sessions with a dedicated trainer (remotely or via workplace visits). The programme length is 12 months with a further 3 months for end-point assessment.
On successful completion there may be an opportunity for permanent employment with the hotel.
There are no formal qualifications required to apply. Applicants must be 16 or over and not in full-time education. Due to the nature of the business, work will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays, and you should be prepared to be on your feet for entire shifts.
