Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust are recruiting an Apprentice Healthcare Assistant to join the Theatre Team at Queen’s Hospital, Romford. The role involves working in operating theatres across a wide range of specialties (Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Vascular, ENT, Trauma, Gynaecology, Maxillofacial, Pain Management and Obstetrics) and includes varied shifts covering weekdays, weekends and nights.

You will receive full on-the-job training within theatres alongside a structured apprenticeship programme with clear progression routes.

Apprentices will complete the Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker - Theatre pathway apprenticeship and will perform delegated clinical care duties under the direction of a registered nurse after training and competency assessment. Applicants who already hold a Level 3 healthcare qualification or have extensive HCA experience are not eligible.

  • Not eligible if you already hold a Healthcare qualification at Level 3 or above or have extensive experience working as a Healthcare Assistant
