This apprenticeship is for an Apprentice Installation Engineer to install market-leading robotic milking and feeding equipment across the south of England. You will work alongside experienced engineers gaining practical skills in electrical wiring and containment methods, basic pneumatics, fabrication, assembly of control panels, terminating and testing electrical and data circuits, and site preparation.
Day-to-day duties include workshop manufacture and organising van stock as well as on-site installation and commissioning.
The role includes off-the-job training with PETROC to achieve an Engineering Fitter Level 3 qualification. Training is delivered one day a week at Petroc College's North Devon Campus. The apprenticeship start date is 1 September 2026 and the programme length is 3 years 6 months.
Working hours are typically Monday to Friday 7:00 to 17:00 (40 hours per week); some roles may require staying away from home depending on job location.
Essential entry requirements are GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 or above. The annual wage is £20,800 and the employer provides a pension scheme, tools, and uniform. The employer operates a Disability Confident approach and a fair proportion of interviews will be offered to applicants with a disability or long-term health condition (applicants must still meet essential requirements).
